As the end of the school year approaches, there is an increasing number of awards, certificates and presents to give out. With this in mind, this weeks celebration assembly was split into 3 separate assemblies.
All the KS2 1st place winning certificates were given out at Tuesday’s Sports Assembly. 2nd, 3rd and 4th places were later given out in class. Congratulations to all the winners, runners up and everyone who took part in the all the events and to the winning team. Everyone had a wonderful time.
As there were so many awards to celebrate this week, the celebration assembly was spilt into KS1 and KS2. Please see this month’s newsletter for a full list of all the Merit Award winners.
We also celebrated all the children who received 100% attendance this term and also this academic year.
It is also the time of year when we say goodbye and good luck to the year 6 children moving onto high school. Each of the Year 6s received a special leavers t-shirt with all their names printed on the back.
They also shared memories of their time at Holland Park from Reception, where their favourite memory was the time they had a mock Royal Wedding, to Year 6 where the bus breaking down on the way home from Caythorpe proved to be a memorable event.
The rest of the school had also be practising a special song to sing to them with Year 6 replying with the Holland Park song, Give it all you’ve got.
The Year 6 leavers will continue their leaving celebrations tomorrow with a leaving ceremony at St Paul’s church in the morning and BBQ and disco during the afternoon.
We also had some teachers leaving:
Mr Wainford is leaving us to take up a post as assistant head at Burrsville School;
Mr Page is moving onto a school in Colchester where he will continue to teach year 3/4;
and we also wished Mrs McAuley good luck on the impending birth of her baby.
Good luck to everyone leaving us tomorrow. Make sure you keep in touch.
