Well, the final day is over. The children have had a fantastic time and seeing them experiencing all the activities and overcoming their fears has been an absolute privilege . They have been a credit to their families and Holland Park.
The children were woken at 6.30am so they could finish their packing and strip their beds – by 8am all the rooms were clear and the bags were out of their rooms. After another cooked breakfast we split into our groups for the final time, with the children undertaking the last activities of their stay which included orienteering, the vertical challenge, the giant swing and abseiling. The instructors were all highly complimentary about their be-laying and climbing skills – something they have become expert at over the last three days.
After the morning activities, we tucked into our final meal at Caythorpe and then boarded the coach – heading home tired but extremely happy and proud of their achievements. I am sure they are talking non-stop about their experiences. Well done to all the children who attended Caythorpe 2018 – you have been amazing!
