Mrs Blyth – Year 1 Teacher & Deputy HeadTeacher’s Introduction
I have been a teacher for 20 years and during this time I have taught classes of children from Reception age up to Year 6. Since I was a young girl I knew I wanted to teach, no other job would have done for me! I like to spend time with my friends and family and I love going for walks along the seafront, reading lots of different books and singing. I am a member of a local choir and really enjoy singing well known pop and rock songs when we perform to audiences.
Holland Park is the third school that I have taught in. It is such a wonderful place to work in, especially as all of the children and staff are friendly and fun to be with. The children in my class this year are fabulous too! Class 1RB are always full of bright ideas and are so keen to share their learning with each other. So far this term the children have enjoyed discovering lots of different traditional stories and are becoming expert story-tellers. Each day is an exciting new venture for everyone involved!
Mrs Rees – Year 3 teacher and SCMS coordinator
I qualified in 1997 and have worked in various local schools in Tendring. This is my second time teaching at Holland Park as I taught here for four years as a maths specialist, delivering a specific programme for children who had struggled in this area. After leaving to set up a specialised behaviour unit, I am now back to use my skills to help develop children in a whole class situation.
Something you might not know about me:
My hobbies include going to see musical theatre, live concerts and dancing. I have had a variety of jobs before training to be a teacher including racing Go Karts and flipping burgers at Watford FC, both fun as I was able to meet people from all walks of life.
