World War II Day

Today, Year 6 have been immersed in a range of activities to do with World War II.  Over the course of the day, the children learned about the code breakers of Bletchley Park; built their own model Spitfires while learning about the aircraft of WWII; created some fabulous chocolate pinwheel biscuits made from a ration cookery book recipe; sung the songs of Vera Lynn and even visited our own Anderson shelter where they learned about air raid shelters at home and completed some sketches of the shelter.

They all had a fantastic day and learned a lot about WWII on the home front and will hopefully have plenty to tell you about when they get home!
