EYFS

Early Years

At Holland Park, we greatly value the importance of the early years foundation stage (EYFS) in providing a secure foundation for future learning and development.

We believe in the power of learning through play. Our Early Years team uses research-based strategies to ensure every child learns in the way that suits them best, helping them begin their school journey with confidence and joy.

We follow the statutory EYFS framework to support development across all key areas of learning, including communication and language, physical development, literacy, maths, expressive arts, and more.

Throughout the year, we use a mix of child-led and adult-led activities, following the children’s interests to create meaningful, inspiring learning experiences, while also guiding them in understanding the rules and routines of school life.

In everything we do, we nurture independence, resilience, and a positive attitude to learning - laying strong foundations for every child’s future success.

We seek to provide:

  • Quality and consistency, so that every child makes good progress and no child gets left behind.
  • A secure foundation through learning and development opportunities which are planned around the needs and interests of each child and are assessed and reviewed regularly.
  • Partnership working between practitioners and parents.
  • Equality of opportunity and anti-discriminatory practice, ensuring that every child is included and supported.

We also send a weekly newsletter to keep parents informed, offering activities you can try at home and sharing what the children have been learning that week.
